Maracaibo
Advanced Only due to depth and currents. Maracaibo sometimes has ripping currents going out and down and it is a deep dive. The wall does not start til 110' and does not really straighten out til 130'. It is a nice dive between 140'- 170'. We usually put a depth limit of 200' on this one. It is definitely a deco dive which is alright, but there is no shallow area to do your deco. You have to hang out at 20-30 feet when the bottom is at 100' and the tops of the coral are at 80'. It is nice to do once, but after the wall, it is pretty disappointing. Lots of large coral formations, soft coral and sponges. Fish life may include large rays, sea turtles, and sharks, but much life has been fished out.
